This year, all volunteers are required to provide a RI background check.
To do this, you will have to go down to the Attorney General’s Office at 150 S. Main St.
The Attorney General’s Office is open M-F 8:30am-4:30pm
You will need to have with you:
- One of the following:
- State Issued Driver’s License
- State Issued Identification Card
- Check or money order (NO CASH) for $5.00 payable to BCI.
- Money orders can be purchased at CVS or at the post office if you don’t have checks.
The first sign when you go in the door says “BCI Line”. That is the line you stand on.
You hand the person at the window your check or money order and your ID and tell them you need a BCI Check for volunteering with the school department. You wait for a couple minutes and they will call your name and give you the form, which you bring to us at next week’s meeting.
We will announce the deadline for background checks during the meetings and will post here when we’ve finalized it. If you cannot meet this deadline, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work out an alternative plan.
